Students who completed the Women’s Self Defense Course have said…
“My daughter and I participated in the Self Defense Course for Women at the New York Athletic Club. I would highly recommend our instructor Sifu Fertal. We learned a lot of successful self-defense techniques in a short period of time. Sifu was very supportive and encouraging. We are more aware and prepared to handle ourselves in any difficult situations that may arise. The class was very organized and Sifu was always helpful and ready to answer any of our questions. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the work. The class began and ended on time, however, he was always willing to stay late to help us work on perfecting our techniques or to answer any specific questions. He engaged the entire group and we became very comfortable working with one another.”
– Janet Puntillo
“I found the class to be informative, invigorating, and empowering. The discussion focused on real events and helped me to become more aware of my surroundings and my ability to survive and overcome potential danger. One of the best aspects of the class was the period of exercise and self-defense techniques.”
– Sara D. Giron-Ortiz
“I am grateful for learning exercises and techniques for self-defense that were comprehensible and within my scope of ability. I will continue to apply these to my routine. My sense of awareness was heightened to an extent that allowed for alertness and a sense of confidence.”
– Rev. Mariah Britton, Youth Minister
“Above all, the meditation has helped to diffuse my fears and make the transition from the wilderness to reaffirming the reality of the covenant that God has not given me the spirit of fear but one of understanding and power.”
– Adelaide E. Sakeno
“He is totally absorbed in his work. He loves to teach and enjoys training others to defend themselves in case of danger.”
